At Hilldale Christian Day Care we use the Active Learning Series Curriculum.  This activity-based curriculum focuses on four different categories.  It provides age- appropriate activities for each child daily from each category. 

Listening and Talking:

Infants and Toddlers – This section pays special attention to the ways we can help infants and toddlers talk and think with words.

Preschool Children – This section gives the teacher ideas on helping preschool children use talking to get along with others, share feelings and ideas, work on new self-help skills, follow directions, and show what they know and remember. 

Physical Activities:

Infants and Toddlers – The activities in this section make it more fun for infants and toddlers to do things that use all of their muscles.

Preschool Children -The activities in this section give preschool children many safe and enjoyable activities which help them to develop small and large muscles and learn how things relate in space – in or out, up or down, near or far. 

Creative Activities:

Infants and Toddlers – The activities provided in this section give infants and toddlers their first chance to enjoy art, music, block play, and dramatic play. 

Preschool Children – The activities in this section give preschool children chances to do interesting things by themselves that show clear results.  They have daily opportunities to use creative materials in their own ways.

Learning from the World:

Infants and Toddlers – In this section there are many activities to help infants and toddlers use their senses and learn about the world around them.
